University of Bedfordshire
The University of Bedfordshire was established in August 2006, following the merger between the University of Luton and De Montfort University’s Bedford campus. It has the following campuses: Putteridge Bury Campus, Luton Campus, Bedford Campus, Butterfield Park campus and the Buckinghamshire campus. It has over 21,000 students and 1200 staff. The University of Bedfordshire has been awarded top marks – a ‘confidence’ rating – in a recent Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) audit 2009, which checks how UK universities maintain their own academic standards and quality. It was also adjudged ‘Runner-up for University of the Year’ in the Times Higher Education Supplement Awards.

Coventry University
Coventry University has its roots in the Coventry College of Design which was established in 1843. In 1970 that Coventry College of Art amalgamated with Lanchester College of Technology and Rugby College of Engineering Technology. In 1992, under the terms of the Further and Higher Education Act of 1992, the institution's name was changed from Coventry Polytechnic to Coventry University. The University occupies a purpose-built 33-acre campus in the heart of Coventry city centre. An exciting development for both the University and for the City has been the creation of the 20-acre Coventry University Technology Park. The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) has found Coventry University teaching to be in the 'excellent' range.

University of Dundee
The University of Dundee is a university based in the city of Dundee on the eastern coast of the central Lowlands of Scotland. Founded in 1881 the University of Dundee became an independent body in 1967. Since its independence, the university has grown to become an internationally renowned centre for teaching and research. According to the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2010, the University is in the top ten UK Universities for teaching and learning. The main campus of the university is located in Dundee's West End, which also contains the university's affiliated Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. The university also has additional campuses at Ninewells Hospital and in Kirkcaldy, Fife.

Edge Hill University
Edge Hill College was opened on 24 January 1885 in Liverpool. Originally welcoming 41 students to Liverpool in 1885, over 23,000 are now enrolled on Edge Hill University’s courses. In 2005, Edge Hill was granted Taught Degree Awarding Powers by the Privy Council. On 18 May 2006 the institution became Edge Hill University. Edge Hill has its main 160-acre campus in Ormskirk on the outskirts of Liverpool. The Woodlands campus is based in Chorley, Lancashire and offers continuing professional development programmes and part-time study. Wirral Education Centre offers HLTA training and foundation degrees in Supporting Teaching and Learning. Woodford Lodge in Cheshire is the base for education-related foundation degrees and HLTA training in Cheshire. Edge Hill received an overall satisfaction rating from students of 83% in the National Student Survey.

Edinburgh Napier University
Edinburgh Napier University is a university and former technical college in Edinburgh, Scotland. Edinburgh Napier University was opened as Napier Technical College in 1964. In February 2009 the University launched its new title, Edinburgh Napier University, to reflect its location in Scotland's capital city. The University was awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education for 2009. University of Essex
The University of Essex is one of the leading academic institutions in the UK both in terms of teaching and research. The Times Higher Education Supplement and the Independent ranked the University 9th out of 105 principal universities/colleges for average weighted score per researcher. The University was established in 1963 and received its royal charter in 1965 and has always been dedicated to research and scholarship of the highest international standards. Heriot-Watt University
Heriot-Watt University is a university based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Originating as the School of Arts of Edinburgh in 1821, Heriot-Watt is the eighth-oldest higher education institution in the United Kingdom. Women were welcomed as early as 1869, 20 years ahead of other institutions. It received its university charter in 1966. Institute for System Level Integration
Institute for System Level Integration is a research institute and knowledge transfer organisation focused on knowledge transfer in electronic enabling technologies. The Institute is a collaborative venture involving the computer science and electronic and electrical engineering departments of four of the UK's leading universities, University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, Heriot-Watt University and University of Strathclyde. Its aim is to support the development of electronics systems design worldwide and to encourage the exploration of new technologies through research. The institute was founded in 1998 and was located in Livingston, Scotland, UK until 2009, when it moved to Heriot-Watt University Technology Park.

University of Liverpool
Founded in 1881, the University of Liverpool is a teaching and research university in the city of Liverpool, England. It is a member of the Russell Group of large research-intensive universities and the N8 Group for research collaboration. It is one of the six original "red brick" civic universities. The university has produced eight Nobel Prize winners and offers more than 230 first degree courses across 103 subjects. In the 21st century physicists, engineers and technicians from the University of Liverpool were involved in the construction of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, working on two of the four detectors in the LHC. It is one of the top 20 research-led universities in the UK. The University is mainly based around a single urban campus approximately five minutes walk from Liverpool City Centre, at the top of Brownlow Hill and Mount Pleasant. London Metropolitan University
London Metropolitan University, located in London, England, was formed on 1 August 2002 by the amalgamation of the University of North London (est.1896) and the London Guildhall University (est.1848). The University has campuses in the City of London and in the London Borough of Islington. London Metropolitan University is a fully recognised state university in the UK, recognised, like all other universities, by the Privy Council and the Higher Education Funding Council for England. In their most recent Institutional Audit the QAA concluded that they had 'broad confidence', the highest level of commendation, in the soundness of the University's current and likely future management of the quality of its academic programmes and the academic standards of its awards. Middlesex University
Middlesex University is a university in north London, England. It is located in the historic county boundaries of Middlesex from which it takes its name. Middlesex University essentially grew out of mergers between different schools and colleges in North London. Perhaps the most prominent and one of the oldest of its constituent establishments is the Hornsey College of Art, founded in 1882. Other institutions include Ponders End Technical Institute (founded in 1901) and Hendon Technical Institute (founded in 1939). All three institutions were successfully amalgamated to form Middlesex Polytechnic in January 1973. Before becoming a university in 1992, Middlesex expanded further by joining three more colleges in north London. The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) visited Middlesex in 2009. Its resulting report said auditors had confidence in the University's current and likely future management of its academic standards and of the learning opportunities available to students. Middlesex currently teaches 35,500 students, and about 30 per cent of these are international students.

University of Northampton
University of Northampton is a university in Northampton, Northamptonshire. It gained full university status as The University of Northampton in 2005 but has its roots in the beginning of the 20th century. In 1924, Northampton Technical College was opened at St George's Avenue, site of the current Avenue Campus. The building for the college was formally opened by the then Duke and Duchess of York in 1932. A School of Art opened later in 1937. In 2005 the University also received the power to validate its own research degrees. The University of Northampton occupies two sites: Park Campus at Kingsthorpe, a suburb of Northampton; and Avenue Campus, close to Northampton town centre and opposite one of the largest open parkland areas in Northampton. The University of Northampton has approximately ten thousand students spread across its two campuses.

Nottingham Trent University (NTU)
Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is a university in Nottingham, England. It was founded as Trent Polytechnic (later Nottingham Polytechnic) in 1970 before gaining university status in 1992. It is one of the largest universities in the United Kingdom, serving more than 24,000 students. Nottingham Trent University has three campuses: City Campus, located just north of Nottingham City Centre; Clifton Campus, situated at Clifton, around four miles from Nottingham; and Brackenhurst Campus, approx 14 miles from Nottingham. University of Plymouth
The University of Plymouth is the largest university in the South West of England, with over 31,000 students and is 9th largest in the United Kingdom by total number of students. It is a modern university that has undergone a great deal of development. It has almost 3,000 staff. The main campus is in the Devon city of Plymouth, but the university has campuses and affiliated colleges all over South West England. Plymouth has high academic standards and has performed very well in all teaching reviews carried out by external bodies since 1996. The university also has a long record of high quality innovative research as demonstrated by its achievements in the RAE.

Robert Gordon University
Robert Gordon University (often known as RGU) is a modern university located in Aberdeen, Scotland and was granted university status in 1992. It has two campuses at Garthdee (on the banks of the River Dee) and Schoolhill (based in the heart of Aberdeen), and offers over 145 full-time and part-time undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The origins of the University date back to 1750. In 2009 the University was named 'The Best Modern University in the UK' by The Times Good University Guide. The University has over 15,000 students. University of Strathclyde
The University of Strathclyde at Glasgow, Scotland, is Glasgow's second university by age. It was founded in 1796, receiving its Royal Charter in 1964 as the UK's first technological university. It takes its name from the historic Kingdom of Strathclyde. Today Strathclyde is one of the UK's leading universities (36 Times Good University Guide 2011; 35 Complete University Guide 2011; 25 Guardian University Guide 2011). Currently, the University has two campuses, John Anderson Campus and the Jordanhill campus. Each campus changed very little from its humble beginnings to the creation of the University of Strathclyde in 1964.

Swansea Metropolitan University
Swansea Metropolitan University is a university based in Swansea, Wales, UK. The University was formed as Swansea Institute of Higher Education ("SIHE") in 1992, when it achieved its status as an independent Higher Education Corporation. It had previously been known as the West Glamorgan Institute of Higher Education, which itself had been formed in September 1976 from the amalgamation of three colleges, the origins of which date back to the mid-19th century. Its predecessors were Swansea College of Art, Swansea College of Education, and Swansea College of Technology. In January 2008, it was announced that the Privy Council had accorded the institution university status, and approved its present name, making it one of the newest universities in Britain. On December 17 2010 it was announced that Swansea Metropolitan will merge with the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David.

University of Wolverhampton
The University of Wolverhampton is a British university located on four campuses across the West Midlands and Shropshire. The city campus is located in Wolverhampton city centre with a second campus at Compton Park, Wolverhampton; a third in Walsall and a fourth in Telford. There is a fifth campus at Burton; where many of the Nursing Students reside. The roots of the University of Wolverhampton lie in the 19th century growth of Mechanics Institutes, providing vocational and general education for working men. Mergers with Teacher Training Colleges in Wolverhampton and Dudley in the 1970s and in Walsall in 1989 played a part in the institution’s expansion, and in 1992, with an ambitious new campus in Telford under construction, it was granted University status.
